For several years, La Patinoire Royale / Galerie Valérie Bach has been promoting the modern and contemporary Belgian artistic scene, through vast historical exhibitions, both through "group-shows" (Sculpting Belgium, Painting Belgium, Belgian Women) and through individual exhibitions of Belgian artists (Koen Van Mechelen, artistic collective Lab[au], Jan Dries, Antonia Lambelé, Francis Dusépulchre, etc).
With YOUNG BELGIUM, the gallery wishes to show an emerging Belgian scene, made up of artists under forty years old, born or permanently settled in Belgium, supported by a certain visibility, and together constituting a possible base of international Belgian artists in the future.
Each year, the gallery intends to give a voice to these young artists, with the objective of harvesting talent in the years to come, through collective exhibitions, structured in individual spaces in the vast premises of La Patinoire Royale / Galerie Valérie Bach, in the heart of Brussels.
Putting La Patinoire Royale / Galerie Valérie Bach at the disposal of these young artists is also to support the young creation, in a thematic selection, annual and by distinct opus.
For its first edition, YOUNG BELGIUM has selected a palette of six artists around the theme of the Ineffable.
