Antonia Lambelé born on 27th January, 1943 in Shurley, Great-Britain, studied drawing at the Academy of SaintJosse-Ten-Noode and sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels. She started her career carving black
marble. In the early 1980s, Lambelé devoted herself to plexiglass sculptures and included colors. Her creations have a
strict and geometric structure, her research then focuses on the spatial possibilities through the reliefs. Lambelé’s first
solo-exhibition took place in 1986 at the Cultural Center of Brussels, in Neder-over-Heembeeck. Numerous collective
and personal exhibitions followed, notably in the Gardens of the Museum van Buuren in Brussels. In 1988, the artist
exhibited at Galerie Convergence in Paris, where she met many artists such as Jo Delahaut as well as Aurélie Nemours.
